Open Art Studio

When: Tuesday evenings, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Nov. 22 to Dec. 13 (4 weeks)
Fee: $30 per class or $110 for 4 classes
Location: RAC Studios, 5 Mathews Ave., Riverdale, NJ (Handicapped-accessible)

American Zen: Natural Fitness for Body & Spirit

Location: Riverdale Community Center, 51 Loy Avenue, Riverdale, NJ
Scott Brassel’s “American Zen” class is a blend of Tibetan yoga, Qigong, meditation and energy work. A director of Room to Breathe Yoga, his classes are a combination of lecture, movement, and meditation. He offers his students tools to use daily as they encounter life’s many challenges, drawing upon the teachings of the Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron, Eckhart Tolle, and Wayne Dyer. For adults 18 and older. Preregistration Required – Class Size Limited.

Mari F. Kelly is a registered Art Psychotherapist with a passion for nurturing creative expression through studio arts, music and movement. She completed her training at New York University, The New School University and Queen’s University, Belfast, Ireland. Her professional expertise has developed over many years to include working with special needs adults, teens and children; grief and bereavement work; mindfulness-based support around depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal ideation; and work with hospice residents and cancer patients. She has recently returned from Europe after 10 years and is overjoyed to connect with those in her homeland through community-based therapeutic art programs.
Scott Brassel has been teaching yoga and lecturing on New Age consciousness and Buddhist philosophy for over 15 years. He is a Director of Room to Breathe Yoga in Ho-Ho-Kus (www.roomtobreatheonline.com). His classes are a combination of lecture, movement, and meditation. His “American Zen” class is a blend of Tibetan yoga, Qigong, meditation and energy work. He offers his students tools to use daily as they encounter life’s many challenges. Through the teachings of the Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh, Pema Chodron, Eckhart Tolle, and Wayne Dyer, Scott will lead you on a journey within, where you will come to know who you really are and who you hope to be.
